The Latest In Acne Treatment

Acne is a common skin disorder in adolescents, and also some adults, and there are several methods of acne treatment available to combat the condition. Acne can be very severe, with disfiguring and traumatic skin lesions that can leave a permanent scar. For mild cases of acne there are several over the counter medicines that can prove effective, but for severe cases of acne you will need to consult your doctor or a dermatological specialist.

Severe cases of acne respond well to treatments with antibiotics, which work to eradicate the bacteria that causes the inflammation and infection. Antibiotics prescribed include tetracyclines, which can have serious systemic side effects. More recently a new antibiotic treatment has been trialled in acne studies called azithromycin, which has shown to have effective anti-inflammatory and antibiotic effects against the acne bacteria, Propionibacterium acnes.

Azithromycin is the active ingredient in the drug Zithromax, and has many advantages compared to other antibiotics, namely that is presents no severe drug interactions. Zithromax has also been shown to have less gastrointestinal effects than other antibiotics used for acne treatment and can be prescribed in lower, less frequent doses making it more cost effective and less disruptive to the body.

Zithromax is available in capsule form, and can be used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections as well as acne, including infections of the upper or lower airways, skin or soft tissue, or ears. However as with all broad-spectrum antibiotics, Zithromax can sometimes cause inflammation of the bowel (colitis).

Other side effects from this drug are thought to be minimal, but include headaches, loss of appetite, dizziness, thrush infections, hyperactivity and abnormal heart beats (arrhythmias). Zithromax is not recommended for people who suffer with anaemia or thalassemia as it can cause the decrease of platelets or white blood cells in the blood. Antibiotics should never be taken if you suffer from liver disease and should always be taken at regular, spaced intervals.

Zithromax absorption can be affected by indigestion remedies and so should be taken at least one hour before, and two hours after taking any kinds of antacids. Zithromax can also affect your blood levels of digoxin, ciclosporin and warfarin, and so your doctor many need to perform additional blood monitoring if you are on these drugs and taking Zithromax.

If you are taking a combined oral contraceptive pill or are using contraceptive patches, there may be a very low risk that Zithromax will reduce its effectiveness at preventing pregnancy. Although the risk of this is very low, you may wish to use additional methods of contraception whilst taking this antibiotic.

How Football and Racing Collide

Randy Moss on Tuesday showed he can attract big-time talent to his Craftsman Truck team by naming Jimmie Johnson his driver for the Aug. 20 race at Bristol.

Johnson, the two-time defending Spint Cup champion, will run in the No. 81 Randy Moss Motorsports Chevy Silverado. Moss wears 81 for the New England Patriots.

“I have never run a truck race so it should be fun,” the Boston Herald quoted Johnson as saying. “Heck, my brother Jarit has run more than me, but it’s going to be a good time. I’m excited to run Randy’s truck. Hopefully we can get them a good finish.”

Moss’ team debuted July 19 at Kentucky, with driver Willie Allen finishing 15th.

And I’m going to take my team of moving trucks to the track and challenge them to a duel! Football players getting into racing is like actors wanting to become singers…you wonder if it’s going to work out.

Religious Bangle Interferes With Higher Education?

Aberdare Girls’ Comprehensive School in South Wales was held guilty for discriminating against Sarika Watkins-Singh a 14 year old Sikh schoolgirl who refused to stop wearing a religious wrist bangle after trying to make her take off the piece of religious jewelry.

Her bangle is called a Kara, a slim steel bracelet worn by many Sikhs as a sign of their identity and faith.

The school plans to appeal the ruling, declaring that their school is a place ”where girls flourish, learning to become good citizens whilst treating each other as equal, irrespective of wealth, race, religion or creed”.

Yes of course…becasue we all know braclet’s cause distractions in the learning abilities of young girls.

Maybe South Wales needs to take a big hint from America when it comes to FREEDOM OF SPEECH.

They Walk Among Us

Special Ed

I was at the checkout of a K-Mart. The clerk rang up $46.64 charge. I gave her a fifty dollar bill. She gave me back $46.64. I gave the money back to her and told her that she had made a mistake in MY favor. She became indignant and informed me she was Educated and knew what she was doing, and returned the money again. I gave her the Money back ..same scenario! I departed the store with the $46.64.

I walked into a Starbucks with a buy-one-get-one-free coupon for a Grande Latte. I handed it to the girl and she looked over at a little chalkboard that said “Buy one-get one free.” “They’re already
buy-one-get-one-free,” she said, “So I guess they’re both free” She handed me my free Lattes and I walked out the door.

One day I was walking down the beach with some friends when one of them shouted, “Look at that dead bird!” Someone looked Up at the sky and said, “Where?”

While looking at a house, my brother asked the real estate agent which direction was North because, he explained, he didn’t want the sun waking him up every morning. She asked, “Does the sun rise in the North?” When my brother explained that the sun rises in the East, and has for sometime, she shook her head and said, “Oh I don’t keep up with all that stuff.”

I used to work in technical support for a 24/7 call center. One day I got a call from an individual who asked what hours the call center was open. I told him, “The number you dialed is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.” He responded, “Is that Eastern or Pacific time?” Wanting to end the call quickly, I said, “Uh, Pacific.”

My sister has a lifesaving tool in her car designed to cut through a seat belt if she gets trapped. She keeps it in the trunk.

My friends and I were on a beer run and noticed that the cases were discounted 10%. Since it was a big party, we bought 2 cases. The cashier multiplied 2 times 10% and gave us a 20% discount.

I couldn’t find my luggage at the airport baggage area, so I went to the lost luggage office and told the woman there that my bags never showed up. She smiled and told me not to worry because she was a trained professional and I was in good hands. “Now,” she asked me, “Has your plane arrived yet?”

While working at a pizza parlor I observed a man ordering a small pizza to go. He appeared to be alone and the cook asked him if he would like it cut into 4 pieces or 6. He thought about it for some time before responding. “Just cut it into 4 pieces; I don’t think I’m hungry enough to eat 6 pieces.”

They walk among us, and they reproduce, and worst of all ………..

The Wedding Auctions

Time to open up my laptop computer and dust up on my e-baying skills; I’m going to sell ad space on my forehead.

Wedding Auction Kelly Gray and fiancé, Karl Gau were trying to plan their wedding on a combined income of $32,000.

Wedding ceremonies adverage to over $27,000, according to a recent survey commissioned by The Knot Inc., a publicly traded wedding media and services company.

So what do you do with limited income and a big wedding budget? You auction off a spot in your wedding on eBay.

Of course! Why didn’t someone think of this before? This woman is a GENIOUS!

The Long Lost Lohan

Lindsay and Ali Lohan

No need to adjust your eyeglasses, there really is another Lohan! An illegitimate Lohan sister named Ashley Kaufmann.

Surprise, surprise! She wants to follow in moronic half-sisters Lindsay and Ali’s footsteps by recording an album.

A record-industry insider says, “Ashley has more talent than Lindsay or Ali.”

My dog has more talent than Lindsay.

A Lohan family source adds, “Ashley’s singing ability just proves that the family talent comes from Michael (Lohan), not Dina Lohan.”

Again…surprise, surprise!

Popular American Idol Reject Signs A Contract

American Idol Fans! Remember Josiah Leming from Hollywood week of this past season’s American Idol 7?

Josiah is probably by far the most popular contestant to not make it through Hollywood Week into the top 25. He’s proof that you don’t have to win American Idol to get a gig.

Simon Cowell has even admitted that Josiah should have made it to the final round. He voted for him to stay, but was turned down by Paula and Randy. Everything was going great for him during Hollywood week up until his last performance where he sang a very unprepared version of “Stand By Me” with no musical accompaniment.

There’s no telling how far Josiah would have went on the show, but that’s all a thing of the past now…

Josiah Leming has signed a publishing and recording deal with Warner Bros. Records. Since his departure from the show his MySpace page has gotten over three million views and his songs have been listened to more than two million times. His music is also available for purchase on his MySpace page.

“Josiah’s talent as a lyricist is one of the main reasons I signed him,” says Warner Bros. Records’ Senior Vice President of A&R Perry Watts-Russell. “All of his emotions go into his songs. He has an extraordinary gift for turning his experiences into art.”

“No matter what I have gone through, I have the same feelings every kid has,” Josiah says. “And I think I can put those feelings in such a way that they connect with people and help them get through their hard times. If my music can give others something they can express their emotions through, that’s the whole point.”

His album is set to be released this fall along with this season’s winner, David Cook and following right behind, runner up David Archuleta.
