The University of Florida recently did a research and found results that show that “Telephone counseling may be just as successful as face-to-face counseling in helping people maintain weight loss”

This sounds a lot easier than trying the latest and greatest diet pills such as Ephedrasil Hardcore, which the name itself doesn’t make it sound so fun either.

234 obese women between the ages of 50 and 75 years old whom lived in rural areas in northern Florida were studied. They finished a 6 month weight loss program and the women lost an average of 22 pounds.

One year later some of the women were counseled over the phone and the rest were counseled face to face. Results showed that the women counseled over the phone regained less than 2.5 pounds average weight. The women who were counseled in person regained an average of 8 pounds.

Out of all the fat burners that are being sold and reviewed on the internet, this one is by far the oddest:

Meet the smallest horse to be born in Bliss at Riverdance Stud Farm in Victoria, South Australia.

The currently unnamed horse is a whopping 15 inches, equivalent to the size of ‘a week-old lamb.’ Miniature horses of her breed are normally born between 20-23 inches but this “little horse that could” is expected to grow 24 inches.

The town is currently holding a contest to give the horse a name before Christmas. No english saddles for this little girl.

Jerry Mitchell will direct PEEPSHOW, a new modern burlesque show set for the Planet Hollywood Hotel in Las Vegas, to begin previews March 30, with an opening set for April 18, 2009.

Not familiar with Jerry Mithell? He was a Tony Award winner for his choreography of La Cage Aux Folles, and was also held Tony nominations for his choreography of Hairspray, Legally Blonde, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Never Gonna Dance, and The Full Monty. He also directed Legally Blonde.

PEEPSHOW was created specifically for the “adult playground of Las Vegas with a highly stylized combination of sexy striptease and celebrity. ” The cast will star Mel B of the Spice Girls playing Peep Diva, and Kelly Monaco, winner of Dancing With the Stars, (Season 1) who will play Bo Peep.

Last week in Southeastern North Carolina in the Outer Banks, a manatee that reportedly was found dead.

The dead manatee reportedly was seen in the Alligator River over the weekend, even though the animal’s body has not yet been found. Statistically, a manatee can’t survive very long in water colder than 68 degrees. Recent water temperatures in North Carolina have been around 55 degrees.

In recent years, manatee’s have been visiting North Carolina frequently with sightings mostly in Southeastern North Carolina. The same situation has been occurring in Florida.

If you spot a manatee, it is recommended to watch it from a safe distance and not to feed it.

How ironic is this ??
