Today marks the 7th anniversary of the most tragic terrorist attack on American soil that claimed 3,000 victims on September 11, 2001.
I’m sure we can all still remember what we were doing, what we were thinking and what we did the rest of the day after the first plane hit the World Trade Center at 8:46am.
For me personally, I had just graduated that Summer from high school and was still trying to figure out what I was going to do for the rest of my life. I was stressing about college, money and the petty little things. I quickly put those worries aside when watching the news stories and watching the second plane crash into the World Trade Center at 9:03am and again when the distinguishable towers fell to the ground at 9:59 and 10:29am. Not to mention the plane that crashed into the pentagon and the plane that crashed in a field in Pennsylvania. I thought the world was coming to an end and what would happen to me and where I would go if I was to die today?
Even though I did not know anyone personallly that suffered a loss that day, it still brings tears to my eyes to think of what happened that day on 9/11/2001 and I always stop to keep those people in mind that lost their lives and the families that suffered that loss. I hope people do the same, especially this year with all the media hype of the presidential elections going on and the rumors and speculations surrounding it.
Least we not forget about the soldiers overseas fighting for our freedoms so that such things like the 9/11 tragedy does not happen again. That is why they are over there and we should support them 2000% percent whether we support the war or not. I hope nobody ever forgets that!
