Crugg-ly Shoes

Posted by Jorge on Dec 15, 2008 in General, Linked, Shopping

As if those warm and comfy UGG boots weren’t ugly enough, they weren’t as ugly as Crocs. Yet Crocs were just as comfy. I guess you can’t have comfort and fashion at the same time anymore.

You can get the best of both worlds and have Cruggs….a combination of Ugg’s and Croc’s.

It’s like if Clay Aiken and Michael Jackson made a baby, it would not look right, but people will still love it.

Now all the celebrity socialites in LA can wear these things in the 100 degree LA heat, and look fugly.

Barack Obama Is An Economic Stimulus All His Own

Posted by B.J. McKnight on Dec 3, 2008 in Funny, General, Political, Shopping

T-shirts, mugs, posters, stationary, dog shirts, and even baby bibs…these are just some of the memorabilia for sale that has president elect Barack Obama’s image on them.

It is reported by the Washington Post that Barack Obama merchandise is alive and kicking in an economy that is supposedly going down the drain and in the dumps. In most cases, the business of presidential candidate merchandise completely dies down after the election is over. Not for Obama, and it shouldn’t be surprising after all this man is walking history! And if you are living under a rock, it’s because he will be the first African-American president.

Obama is a “living, breathing stimulus package for a modest-size group of entrepreneurs who are slapping Obama’s image on any surface it’ll stick to.” David Segal of the Washington Post writes.

CafePress.com, is a very popular website where anyone with access to the internet, can start their own online store just by uploading an image and that image can be reproduced on blank t-shirts, mugs, posters, etc. Statistically, on CafePress.com, there are approximately 96.000 different styles of Obama merchandise for sale.

Before Obama, the most popular selling presidential merchandise was “Anti-Bush” memorabilia.

Here’s a few things that you can “Obama-fy” yourself with:

Sneakers from SneakerObsession.com

Action Figurine from HBCU Kidz

And the Obama souvenir to end all Obama souvenirs:

Obama Flip-Flops?

Should we be worried that we are praising a president so much that hasn’t done anything in office yet, or be glad that just him being alive is stimulating the economy?

High Price For Fashion

Posted by Jorge on Sep 19, 2008 in General, Linked, Shopping

I don’t understand fashion sometimes. Like these Oscar de la Renta dresses for almost $3,000!!!

Who would care enough to wear a $3,000 dress to work…or out for that matter. I go to Wal-Mart and can barely afford the $3.99 t-shirts along with my groceries. Paris Hilton would die trying to live the life of us Wal-Mart shoppers for a day.

Glass Sinks

Posted by Jorge on Jun 3, 2008 in General, Linked, Reviews, Shopping

I was thinking about getting a glass sink like these for when I move out:

They are very beautiful. The only thing I worry about with having these kind of sinks is having the boyfriend’s 6-year old daughter around. Things always seem to get broken when children are around, so we will see. They look very space friendly so I could even get two of them and have his and her sinks for the hubby and me.

Momma Would Be So Proud!

Posted by Jorge on Mar 10, 2008 in Linked, Shopping

Mothers Day is fast approaching and I’m actually stressing about it as early as it still is. I have no idea what to get my mom personally. She’s so picky and unpredictable. She used to go to the store and exchange things that people got for her and got what she really wanted. I can’t dislike the woman for it, she definitely knows what she wants. It’s a mom thing!

I bought her flowers for Valentine’s Day a few years back and she seemed to like them a lot, so I might do that again for Mother’s Day as a surprise at work or something. I was shopping online at 1-800-Flowers and found a few very beautiful selections:

Flowers Flowers

Chocolates seem more practical than flowers, seeing that chocolate lasts longer, unless you eat it all in one day, that’s another problem. I got a few coupon codes to consider as well:

Mar26 – Save $10 no minimum
Mar15 – Save $15 w/min $74.99 purchase
Mar25 – Save $25 w/min $99.99 purchase

I’m extremely indecisive, so I’m glad I randomly started thinking about it now so I have time to make up my mind.

Sk8er Boys & Girls

Posted by Jorge on Feb 26, 2008 in Linked, Shopping

I checked out Sector 9 Skateboards today. I could imagine my boyfriend looking at this site and going crazy buying things. He used to skateboard all the time when he was a teenager before he met me. The last time I actually saw him attempt to skateboard he rolled over a crack in the pavement and fell on his butt. It was pretty funny!

You can shop for your own skateboard parts and build your own skateboards. Curiosity got the best of me and I looked through the girly designs and I found a few pinks and other designs that caught my eye. Of course you can always buy the skateboards whole, but I think it would be fun to make your own and the site is very user friendly with a unique design so it wouldn’t be hard to surf through at all. Surfing through the site kind of makes me want to belt out of verse of “Skater Boy” by Avril Lavigne.

Manic Monday

Posted by Jorge on Feb 25, 2008 in Shopping

How did you celebrate your last birthday?
My parents took me to Applebee’s with my boyfriend and cousin and I had a very big, fatty, chocolate dessert that was sooooo good but I felt guilty about it later. I don’t regret it either way! Plus I got to spend time with my family, which is a rare occasion.

What’s the last thing you bought yourself, just for fun?
Three pairs of toe socks on ebay. I’m starting up my collection again! Wearing them freaks Nick out, I love that fact so I wear them all the time.

What would the child you once were think of the adult you have become?
They would be disapointed that I havn’t finished college yet. But I would think I was soooooo cool. (Ok, not really!)

“Pink…it’s my new obsession”

Posted by Jorge on Feb 21, 2008 in Linked, Shopping

When I go shopping for clothes or fashion handbags, pink is always the color I look for first. I’m not sure how I started to claim that as my favorite color. I guess it’s mainly because I always feel the need to express my girly, high maintenance side. Then when I sneak peeks at my mom’s celebrity magazines and Paris Hilton is always wearing something pink as well.

I surfed onto the Bolanzo Handbags site and looked at what they had and found this very, extremely cute pink handbag that I am so tempted to buy:

Bolanzo Handbags

They have very luxurious handbags and accessories in so many different styles, colors, and fashions; they look just like the style of purses celebrities would carry around. I’m pretty sure you’d find something you’d like as well. Their handbags are known mainly in the international market, but they became so popular that we are lucky enough to be having them branch out into the U.S. market. Get ready to look like a total celebrity with these handbags.

The Sock Monster Made Me Do This…

Posted by Jorge on Feb 18, 2008 in Linked, Shopping

Socks

It’s so cold down here in our room and I’ve misplaced all my socks. I look like a little half naked snow girl bundled up in an oversized hooded sweatshirt that used to belong to my boyfriend, shorts and bare feet.

My winter wardrobe seems to not fit since last season so I’ve been scraping around for a wardrobe to wear to work everyday. My main qualm has been trying to find matching socks in the house that is, when I do find the one’s that have seemed to have survived the sock monster in the dryer. *confused* The other day I was in a rush and actually walked out of the house with mismatched socks. I don’t think the boyfriend noticed, but I felt like a major bum.

I had originally started searching on auction sites to find some cute, trendy winter socks, and then I started shopping on Hue. I had been considering adding their leggings to my wardrobe; I have never tried to wear leggings before but they do look like a fashionable, and most importantly, warm faze I could get accustomed to.

So I’m making a mental wish list for when I can afford to buy some…uuuumm, let’s see…I want the dark blue polar bear socks, the black cotton leggings (to wear under my jeans on the really, really cold days at work,) the fishnet knee high socks, (ok so these won’t really keep my warm, but they are very, very cute!) Time to go shopping again! Goodbye income tax return!
