Nachos, Tacos and Burritos...

A foreigner walks into a bar he's carrying a bag of cow manure, a shotgun, and a dead cat. He sits down at the bar an orders a drink, drinks the drink, loads the shotgun, shoots the bag, and takes a bite of the dead cat. He does this about 4 or 5 more times until the bartender finnally asks, "Wat the hell are you doing?" the foreigner says "I want to be like you Americans, I want to shoot the sh*t and eat pussy!"

Children of the Corn

She scolded one of the children for standing on a chair.

These children actually took the time to plot out a plan to harm or even kill the teacher, the ironic part of the story is they each had a role in the killing. One was assigned to close the windows so no one would see; the other was going to clean up after the deed was done.

WHAT THE JORGE? Some of these kids are a few wind chimes short of blowing in the wind.

My first question, what kind of parents do these children have and two, what kind of punishment comes with that? You can’t send them to jail because they are too young. This particular group of children however had learning disabilities so authorities and even the teacher could not tell if the children knew that the intent was to seriously hurt her.

These parents won’t be ideal candidates for writing any parenting books anytime soon. I wonder what the punishment for trying to kill your teacher is now-a-days?

Have any of you parents with children in school are always involved with school fundraisers?

I know I was! I have two out of four cousins that are currently either in school now or were a part of a school that did fundraising. I always helped them out by buying something, there’s always going to be a school out there that is going to needs to raise money for something….field trip, sports gear, uniforms, etc.

Every single fundraiser that I have participated in to help my cousins, and even children of friend’s have always been the same thing, candy and gift wrap. If I see any more candy or gift wrap I’m going to go loopy. There’s only so much candy and gift wrap people can buy. Would you spend $30 on a box of chocolates normally? I know I wouldn’t, but I did anyways just to support the fundraiser.

I net-surfed upon Schoolpop today and it seemed like such a grand idea to submit to my alma mater schools and even the schools that I purchase fundraiser items from to do this type of non-traditional fundraising. People can basically shop online at participating store’s they would normally shop at and a percentage goes to the organization. We’re talking about shopping online at some brand name stores, to name a few Wal-Mart & Amazon.

I personally could conduct this fundraiser to help pay for student loans and raise funds for myself, which is completely alluring if I had the time.

Advice for the College-Bound

Posted by Jorge | Posted in Linked | Posted on 10-02-2008

For those of you contemplating going back to college or just getting ready to head off to college for the first time, I’d suggest applying for as many grants and scholarships as possible. Yeah, student loans are a big help too, but after graduation you will probably wish you had the help of college grants and scholarship money when you are paying back those student loans with such high interest rates. Take it from a person that had to learn that the hard way…student loans and I will have a long relationship down the road. Seeing that I am somewhat of a minority… (I am half Filipino.) I would have qualified for the few. They make scholarships for everything and everybody now-a-days. For those of you that never really even considered going back to college…you might find a lot of scholarships that could closely pertain to you and that small push might kindle an interest in going to school. I know I wouldn’t personally be as far into my job as I am if I didn’t experience that little bit of education.

I have been contemplating going back for my Bachlor’s Degree…this little bit of research might be my sign that I should go for it…
